Board & Batten Cladding - Product Overview
Board and Batten cladding has a degree of nostalgia associated with it. Long before the development of even the most rudimentary of wood processing machinery, this method of fixing boards to provide a weather tight facing was widely used.
In todays applications, where boards are normally of 17mm minimum thickness, this age old fixing concept provides much greater depth of relief than what is obtained with machine profiled sections like traditional shiplap. This more robust appearance is ideally suited to designs requiring a rugged or rustic appearance.
Because Western Red Cedar has such a low shrinkage rate, WRC Board & Batten cladding can be sourced from both unseasoned and seasoned stock.
