Western Red Cedar  -  Traditional T&G Cladding

Profiles, Sizes and Grade

Grade

TIMBECK machine profiled tongue and groove cladding is manufactured from selected Western Red Cedar stock and graded to Select Appearance Grade.

SELECT APPEARANCE is graded according to the particular product and for mainstream items like cladding, it requires material to be free of all knots, defects and similar blemishes on the primary face. Traces of the dis-allowed characteristics may appear on the back face.

This grade is suitable for a more formal, elegant appearance, particularly when boards are finished with a dressed face. For a more rugged appearance, our shiplap profiles can be can be supplied with a “saw textured” finish.

Tongue and Groove Detail

All TIMBECK cladding profiles share a common Tongue and Groove detail relative to the thickness of the finished product.

  • 18 mm thick profiles have a 6 mm wide groove
  • 15 mm thick profiles have a 5 mm wide groove.
  • All Tongues extend 6 mm irrespective of the thickness of the board
  • Being profiles developed to cater for concealed fixing AND face fixing, one edge of the groove is offset by 8 mm to provide sufficient face overlap to conceal the head of the fixing should that option be chosen.
